LakeBike 24 Challenge, Terms and Conditions
0. Definitions
Organization: Board of the LakeBike Foundation
1. General information
The LakeBike 24 Challenge includes a 4-, 6-, 12- and 24-hour individual and relay mountain bike race, as well as demonstrations and commercial activities on and around the activity site at Aquabest.
The 6-, 12- and 24-hour races have various categories.
The 4-hour race is individual only.
The 6 and 24-hour races start at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The 12 hours starts at 01:00 Sunday morning.
The 4 a.m. starts at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
2. Registration
Participants can register through the website lakebike24.nl until May 1. Registration becomes final only upon receipt of the full registration fee due and, if applicable, parental consent of minor participants.

2.1 Entry fee

2.2 Withdrawal from participation
If a team or individual participant waives participation after registration, a refund of entry fees as described in Article 3.1 may be claimed.
This claim can only be made in writing and must be received at the organization(info@lakebike24.nl) within the time limits described in Article 3.1.
2.3 Team changes
Team changes can be made to the game committee until 11:00 Saturday morning. This may be due to a team member dropping out or replacing a team member.
Failure of a team member will be considered withdrawal from participation as described in Article 2.2.
2.4 Covid-19
The event will be organized according to the then current Covid-19 measures prepared by the central government.
If participant(s) are unable or unwilling to comply, the organization will consider this as withdrawal from participation as described in Article 2.2.
3. Cancellation
The organization reserves the right to change the route, start and/or finish times and/or place or cancel all or part of the 4 and/or 6 and/or 12 and/or 24 hour race on the grounds of, among other things
- extreme weather conditions and other calamities, where this cannot reasonably be expected of the organization otherwise;
- directions from the central government, e.g., Covid-19 measures;
- financial reasons, e.g. insufficient cost recovery due to insufficient participants
In case of cancellation, no new date will be set.
The organization cannot be held responsible for personally incurred expenses if the event must be cancelled due to force majeure.
3.1 Refund of registration fee
In case of cancellation of the event as well as withdrawal of participation by participants, there may be a claim for refund of entry fees.
In case of cancellation, balance will be taken of expenses incurred and refunds will be prorated and subject to sufficient balance.
The starting point here will be maintaining the financial health of the Lakebike Foundation so that organization of the event can continue in the future.
The organization will apply the following principle deadlines for refunds of entry fees:
- Before March 1: 80% refund of registration fees
- Between March 1 and May 1: 60% refund
- After May 1: no refund
- During the event: no refunds.
4. Minimum age
The set minimum age for the 6-hour relay and 4-hour race is 16 years old; and for the 12- and 24-hour relay race, 18 years old. Individual participation is from the age of 18.
Minors must submit a parental consent form at registration . Statement should be sent to info@lakebike24.nl by June 1 . Late submission may result in exclusion without refund of the entry fee. Each team must have at least 1 adult (18 years or older) participant.
5. Health Statement
Participants declare to be in good health when registering and to have consulted a doctor in case of doubt. The organization cannot be held liable in any way for health problems of participants during or after the event.
6. Sale of beverages and food
Sale of drinks and food throughout the event will be the exclusive responsibility of the organization. Third parties are not allowed to sell drinks and food without permission from the organization.
7. Advertising
Participants are permitted to display advertising on bikes and clothing. All other advertising such as banners and posters are not allowed without permission from the organization.
8. Liability
The organization does not assume any liability whatsoever for personal injury , thefts, losses, damages or any other form of property damage resulting from participating in or attending the LakeBike24 Challenge event.
9. Use of imagery
The organization is entitled to record the event, participants and visitors on image carriers and to publish this material on its own website or provide third parties with a usage license. This includes camera recording as part of maintaining public order and security on the premises.
By entering the event grounds or participating in the event, the participant unconditionally consents to the publication and reproduction of his portrait. The footage can be used for promotional purposes.
10. Transponder and race plates.
Participating teams and individual participants will be provided with 1 transponder and race plates for each team member.
11. Acceptance of general terms and conditions
By registering, each participant declares to have taken note of the general terms and conditions. Participants undertake to respect it and comply with it in the strictest manner.
Failure to comply with the general conditions entitles the organization to issue a warning. In case of repeated non-compliance, the participant in question will be excluded from participation in the competition.
12. Winner NK and winner Lakebike24
The fastest Dutchman in the 24-hour solo class and the fastest team with Dutch team captain in the sport class win the title of Dutch champion. The fastest participant or team wins the lakebike24 overall in their class.
13. Privacy / AVG
Upon registration, we record the participant’s name, address, residence, gender and email address. This information is used for the administration and proper execution of the event. The email address may be used to send information the organization deems relevant for participation. The email address can be used to inform participants and former participants of the latest developments surrounding the event. The name and residence of the participant may be used for publication of participation list and results list of the event.
In case of objection for use of email address and/or publication of name in the participants list or results list, the organization can be contacted at info@lakebike24.nl, please mention the subject “unsubscribe email” or “object to publication”.
